Proposal: to create a 15-30 second flash animation introduction to their website in regards to water conservation.
Having searched the Planet Ark website, it has come to occurrence that there is not very much information available on the topic of water conservation. Since it has come into knowledge that Australia is experiencing record breaking droughts due to excessive amounts of consumption it is important to educate people of the importance of conserving water, particularly with in their own home.
Children of about primary school age will be the targeted audience, as they are still adapting to the world and it is important to educate them of water conservation so that this will become a habit and of second nature, particularly now that this would be about the stage that they are learning about the water cycle and also how to help the planet in other ways such as recycling and composting.
According to the Planet Ark fact sheet on greywater, it states that on average 56% of water use is within the home, with the toilet making up 15% of this usage and the bathroom using about 20%. Since children do not heavily affect the water use in the kitchen and laundry, the indoor use is primarily targeted towards the bathroom and toilet use. Outdoor use is also of great importance, making up of 44% of the total water usage in an average household.
Through the use of storyboarding and moodboard, the overall look and feel as well as functionality for the project can be obtained.
