RMIT and UWS collaborative project
Client: The School of Communication Arts and Russell Kerr, Honours Coordinator, RMIT University
As part of the ongoing fourth year relationship with RMIT University and the AGIDEAS international design conference in Melbourne this project represents the third in a series of collaborative student design exchanges.
The aim of this specific project is to critically evaluate the role graphic design plays in the real world. The project will explore issues of social responsibility and personal accountability in the field of graphic design. Participants will create an informed opinion of where they stand within the graphic design profession.

A group of dedicated, passionate and multi-talented fourth year design students are responsible for the positioning and visual branding of the 2008 grad show
that ties in with the production of a suite of strategic visual communication materials and exhibition design to promote and launch the graduation exhibition
Final Sessions
Final Sessions Music Event. Client: The University of Western Sydney and Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre
Final Sessions is a fourth year design student inspired and instigated music event.

It is a celebration of the end of Autumn semester and an opportunity for student musicians to showcase their emerging talents and perform original music to a live audience.
Final Sessions aims to promote regional musical talent, fourth year design and event management skills and raises awareness of Western Sydney as contributor to regional cultural events in the public arena. View site

The strategic branding and print design campaign to promote a number of third year student UWS Performance Theory and Practice course productions.
These projects require branding and marketing material (poster, postcard, invite, ticket, program) that reflects the individual theme of each performance. This project aims to encourage students, public and industry representatives to attend, promotes regional talent, performance based arts projects and raises awareness of UWS as a leader in performance based art
KISD and UWS exchange program brochure and website design

Maximising Potential in Macarthur. Client: Sue Thomas, Office of Regional Development, UWS
The visual communication outcomes aim was to represent ‘leadership’ for young people though a series of print and flash based outcomes to be used as part of the teaching resources.
Penrith Valley Video Festival. Client: The School of Communication Arts
The Penrith Valley Video Festival is a UWS sponsored event, tailor made for students of the School of Communication Arts and educators of media-related principles.
The festival also provides a forum for filmmaking students to screen their work and compete on an international level. The students were briefed to create a strategic branding, print and online design campaign that promotes and adds value to the festival, encourages students to submit their work, promotes regional talent, arts projects and raises awareness.
Equity and Diversity
Equity and Diversity
The Equity and Diversity Unit represents staff and students from groups who have been traditionally under-represented in tertiary education. Fourth year design students were briefed to design their annual calendar.
The Calendar is used predominantly to communicate dates of cultural and religious significance. However, it is also used to promote and celebrate the idea of equity and diversity amongst the UWS and wider community.
